Afghan Blood Bank — User Agreement
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering, logging in, or using any service provided by Afghan Blood Bank ("we," "our," or "the Bank"), you ("User," "Donor," or "Visitor") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you must not use our services.
These terms apply to all users including blood donors, blood recipients, healthcare professionals accessing our portal, and general visitors to our platform.
2. Eligibility & Account Registration
To register as a donor or access restricted services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction).
- Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date personal and health information.
- Not be permanently deferred from blood donation under applicable medical criteria.
- Have a valid government-issued ID for identity verification.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at info@afghanbloodbank.org if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
3. Health Information & Medical Accuracy
You agree to truthfully disclose all relevant medical history, medications, recent travel, and lifestyle factors when completing the health screening questionnaire. You understand that this information directly affects blood safety and recipient welfare.
4. Donation Consent
Each donation session requires a separate informed consent. By booking a donation appointment through our platform, you acknowledge that:
- Donation is entirely voluntary and you may withdraw at any time before the procedure begins.
- Your donated blood will undergo mandatory infectious disease testing.
- Blood that passes testing may be used for transfusion, fractionation, or approved medical research.
- You will not receive financial compensation for your donation (in line with WHO voluntary non-remunerated donation standards).
- Results of certain tests may be reported to public health authorities as required by law.
5. Privacy & Data Use
We collect and process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation. Specifically, you consent to:
- Collection of personal identifiers, contact information, and sensitive health data for donation management.
- Storage of your donor record for a minimum of 10 years as required by health regulations.
- Sharing of de-identified data with accredited research institutions (with explicit additional consent).
- Communication via email or SMS for appointment reminders, test result notifications, and blood drive campaigns.
You have the right to access, correct, or request erasure of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements. Submit requests to info@afghanbloodbank.org.
6. Platform Use & Prohibited Conduct
When using our website, mobile application, or donor portal, you agree NOT to:
- Submit fraudulent registration or health information.
- Attempt to access data belonging to other users or circumvent security measures.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers on our platform.
- Impersonate medical staff, administrators, or other users.
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension, legal action, and reporting to relevant authorities.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Afghan Blood Bank shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the value of direct services rendered to you.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform and may perform maintenance at any time without prior notice.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of our services after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable national and local health laws, as well as general civil law in the jurisdiction where Afghan Blood Bank is registered. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
